• Jackets, breeches and under-plastrons must be FIE approved to 800 newtons.
• Both jackets and under-plastrons are required for all weapons.
• Masks must be FIE approved to 1600 newtons.  See Masks for a detailed list of masks by manufacturer.
• Foil and Epee blades must be FIE approved.  See Blades for a detailed list of blades by manufacturer.
• Sabre must have a "S2000" stamp.
• All equipment must be in good condition.
• The name of the fencer must be displayed on the back of the jacket, with the abbreviation (three letters) of the country below it,  Letters must be printed directly onto the jacket or onto a cloth carefully sewn onto the jacket. The letters must be in dark blue, in capitals, between 8 cm and 10 cm high.
• National logos and crests are not required.
• Transparent sabre masks are not required.
• Sabre will not be wireless.
